Consumer Reports Puts Apple Tech Support on Top
Topic: Notebooks and PCs
Posted on Tue, 6 May 2008 12:00:00 CDT | by Shane McGlaunConsumer Reports recently ranked computer makers tech support. It looked at the ability to solve problems, wait time on the phone and knowledge of support staff. Apple received top scores across the board according to Consumer Reports.
The report draws on subscriber’s experiences with 10,000 desktop and notebook computers. Apple tech support was more successful than others and solved problems 80% of the time. Apple wasn’t alone in looking good in the report.
Other top companies include Lenovo and Dell, both above average for desktops and laptops. Consumer Reports says that HP and Compaq both offer inferior support. I am surprised to see Dell listed as above average, maybe its tech support is finally getting better.
