Developers finally found some 3G related code in the latest iPhone SDK Beta 5.
The code is specifically a preference setting allowing users to switch off 3G.
With this the option Apple gives users the ability to extend battery life.
The high power consumption of the 3G chipsets is seen as the reason why Apple did not release a 3G iPhone in the first place.
It looks like Apple is still not that happy with the battery life under 3G.
More details on MacRumors.
It is less than one month until the WWDC 08, where Steve Jobs is expected to reveal the 3G iPhone.
