Car & Driver Tests Nissan GT-R

Last November I went to the LA Auto Show and one of the coolest cars I saw there was the new Nissan GT-R. The car didn’t strike me as particularly large, definitely smaller than the Mitsubishi 3000GT/Dodge Stealth from the 90’s, yet it is still called large by many reviewers.

The GT-R is a good looking car for sure, but it didn’t have one of those exhaust notes that make your blood race like say a Ferrari, Lamborghini, or a big American V8. Still the car is very cool, and at over $70,000 base price more expensive than anyone ever thought they would see on a Nissan.

Car & Driver tested the GT-R recently and the car performs as good as it looks and it seems that as far as performance cars go, this is one serious bang for the buck. Car & Driver turned in a 0-60 time of only 3.3 seconds and say that’s faster than the Ferrari 599GTB and Porsche 911 Turbo. Car & Driver recons that the GT-R has an underrated 480 hp motor and says that there are rumors of the GT-R putting 480HP to the ground from the rear wheels on dynos. That would put the actual horse power figure somewhere north of 500. All I know is that I want one and that I should have gone to med school.
