This is one of the coolest future products I have heard about in a while: A spray-on OLED display that is self-powered through solar energy.
Japanese Mitsubishi Chemicals and Sumitomo Chemical work on spreadable electronics. The molecular soup would have OLED and Solar cell building blocks that could be spread or even sprayed ultra-thin onto walls or gadgets.
Today we are already at the point where solar cells are printed on and we also heard about solar paint.
Since OLED and Solar elements share similarities perhaps future displays could be created that power themselves ridding us of power cables.
Motorola is apparently also working on solar powered LCD displays for batteryless future phones.
Of course this stuff is still years in the making.
