Corsair has announced that its dominator DDR3 RAM has broken a frequency world record. Corsair Labs has set the world record for the highest achieved DDR frequency of 2462MHz at CL=9. The record was set with a single-rank 1GB module.
The record setting frequency was validated by CPU-Z. The mainboard used for the record setting frequency was an Asus P5E3 premium based on the Intel X48 chipset. I wonder if this means we will be seeing higher frequency Corsair memory on the market soon.
"Corsair is obsessed with pushing memory technology to its limits and beyond," said Martin Mueller, Senior Director of Engineering, Corsair. "This World Record demonstrates the overclocking and high speed memory expertise within Corsair Labs and definitely pushes the memory enthusiast community to achieve even faster, more outrageous speeds."
