Richard Thalheimer, founder and creator of The Sharper Image, has a new solo gig called RichardSolo. It sounds like a company founded by Han's little brother for sure, but its first product is interesting. The device is called the RichardSolo Smart Backup Battery.

The battery claims to have 20% more power than its closest competitor and is certified by Apple for "Made for iPod" and "Works with iPhone". The battery snaps onto the bottom of the iPhone or iPod with Apple’s proprietary connector and can charge your device while it is in use.

Inside the case is a 1200mAh battery that recharges via a USB cable and the battery and device can be charged at the same time. The battery has LED lights to show the charge status for the battery as well. The battery is available now for $49.95 with a wall AC adapter and the retractable USB cable.
