Asus published an announcement last week about Gigabyte having made false accusations against ASUS motherboards' EPU features and the quality of ASUS motherboards' components.
Asus has taken the matter to the Taiwanese Fair Trade Commission (FTC) and started legal proceedings against Gigabyte over defamatory acts.
Asus claims that Gigabyte used a photograph with blown-up (exploded) capacitors at a press event and led the audience to believe it was an ASUS product, to support its false allegations that ASUS uses questionable quality components. However, the image was found to be taken from a photograph of a VGA card manufactured by another vendor.
Digitimes reports that most of this dispute between the two motherboard makers will be battled out between their marketing departments. Computex 2008 will be most likely the first War field.
