NASHVILLE (Billboard) - Fans are hungry for Madonna's Sticky & Sweet world tour,
which kicks off August 23 in Cardiff.
In Europe, strong demand for tickets to Madonna's September 20 concert in Paris
led to the addition of a second show the following night. The Zurich stop
(August 30) has topped the 70,000 mark in sales.
The North American leg kicks off October 4 in Rutherford, N.J., followed by
three sold-out shows at Madison Square Garden shows in New York on October 6-7
and 11.
Boston (October 15), Toronto (October 18), Montreal (October 22), Chicago
(October 26) and Vancouver (October 30) also sold out; next-day shows have been
added for Toronto, Montreal and Chicago.
Tickets go on sale this weekend for stadium shows in Los Angeles, San Diego,
Houston, Miami, and arena shows in Denver, Las Vegas, Philadelphia, Atlanta and
Atlantic City.
But deep-pocketed fans need not worry about getting in. Madonna has entered a
controversial partnership in North America with StubHub, which sells tickets in
the secondary market. The firm is offering Madison Square Garden tickets priced
at upwards of $18,000 each -- and Madonna reportedly gets a cut of the sales.
