The LA Times ran a story yesterday about the fact that the Wii Fit is sold out in the United States. The Wii fitness accessory is as hard to get as a Wii console. In that article analyst Michael Pachter is quoted saying that Nintendo shipped 4 times more Wii Fit systems to Europe because of the strong Euro.
I mentioned back in March already that the current 3rd party price of the Wii represents the Wii price in Euro. Nintendo is just making tons more money in Europe than selling stuff for weak Dollars in the United States.
So unless Nintendo is willing to manufacture more Wii and Wii Fit units or the Dollar gets stronger the inventories will stay low.
