Nintendo launched the Wii console very late in Korea. Korean gamers have only been able get the Wii since late April. The anticipated run on the Wii did not happen.
Only 35,000 units have been sold the first month. The Nintendo DS is a huge success in Korea with 100,000 units sold per month.
Apparently because the Korean kids already got a Nintendo DS, their parents do not want to buy them another console yet. Parents, they just do not get it. Of course you need a portable and a TV video console.
