2K Games announced today that the long running Sid Meier Civilization franchise is spawning another title for PC gamers this fall. The new game will be called Civilization IV: Colonization. The title will be available exclusively for PC gamers.
The game will allow gamers to play as one of four European countries on a quest to colonize the new world. The player will have to guide people from the oppressive motherland to trade, negotiate and fight with natives. The exact launch date of the game is unknown.
"We've received many requests from fans over the years to bring back Colonization and now seemed to be the perfect time to do that," said Sid Meier, director of creative development at Firaxis Games. "The Civilization IV engine provided a fantastic foundation for a new Colonization experience and allowed us to create something great for both new players and long time fans of the game."
