From time to time I check to see if Mitsubishi has updated the available information on their upcoming new Laser TV dubbed LaserVue.
We reported in April about the Mitsubishi Laser TV, when the LaserVue product brand was announced by Mitsubishi.
We knew that Mitsubishi was planning to offer a 65 inch Diamond LaserVue TV in the 3rd Quarter of 2008. In the FAQ section of the Mitsubishi Laser TV, the company also says they plan to release a 73 inch Diamond LaserVue TV in 2008.
The pricing of the new Laser based TVs is still unknown. Mitsubishi only says that the price will be competitive with similar sized flat-screen TVs.
A 65 inch Plasma HDTV currently sells for around $5,000. At the 73 inch size the Mitsubishi LaserVue is pretty much alone. At that size only DLP back projection screens are currently an option.
If the price is right, Mitsubishi could out pace Plasma and LCD HDTVs at the high-end and give us affordable access to a 73 inch monster flat-screen TV.
More Laser TV Coverage.
