Sony offers the Sony Navitus, a new universal remote that runs on Linux.
The Sony Navitus can control 18 components with 33 macro functions each supporting up to 32 actions.
The ueber-remote features a 3.5" TFT 65,536 color screen. The Sony remote is powered by a 200 MHz processor and 32 megabytes of on-board memory. It has a USB interface and a Memory Stick® media slot. It runs Linux OS, maybe it can be hacked, do not know. It measures a big 120 x 174 x 38 mm.
Smarthome sells the Sony Navitus Remote for $699.00. I was happy with the Sony RM-VL900, which is only ~$30, but sure it does not have Linux on it and a color TFT screen.
