24 hour Fitness is bringing the Nike iPod + experience to people who like to work out in the gym. The fitness chain is adding workout equipment to some of its locations that allow gym users to take advantage of the iPod + system to track workouts.
The gym equipment will use the same Nike iPod + system to track workouts on iPod enabled equipment just as it does for those who jog or run. After the workout on enabled equipment the data will be sent to the Nike website and converted to CardioMiles to allow users to set goals and compare numbers to people on other equipment or runners.
"24 Hour Fitness is proud to be the first in the industry to offer members this innovative technology which will enhance the workout experience both inside and outside of the club," said Carl Liebert, chief executive officer for 24 Hour Fitness." The new Nike + iPod compatible equipment is a great way to monitor workouts and achieve your fitness goals, whether you are a triathelete or a stay-at-home parent trying to get in a workout twice a week!"
