Personally I have never found the thought of watching washed up actors and “celebrities” dancing around for a room of judges entertaining. To that end I don’t find the new Activision game called Dancing with the Stars: Get Your Dance On! particularly appealing.

That said the show is surprisingly popular and I guess the original video game was too for a sequel to be released. The game allows players to play new stars from the show including Mel B, Apolo Anton Ohno, Joey Fatone, and Jennie Garth. New pro dancers include Julianne Hough and Derek Hough. The game will hit the Nintendo Wii and DS game systems this fall.

"'Dancing with the Stars' is an ongoing cultural phenomenon that appeals to people of all ages. It is mainstream entertainment at its best," said Dave Oxford, Activision Publishing. "We feel the game is the perfect opportunity to evolve the idea of 'active family fun'."
