New Rio Carbon goes against iPod mini

Rio Audio introduces the Rio Carbon Music Player today.
Update 08/31/04: Rio Carbon shows up in stores

Amazon.com sells it for $224.99 (still pre-order).
The Rio Carbon weighs a light 3.2 ounces and uses Seagate's new 1", 5GB hard drive. The Carbon has 20hours of playback time on a rechargeable battery.
There is no measurements on the Rio Audio site yet for the Carbon player.
The Rio Carbon supports the new Microsoft anti-piracy technology, called Janus.
It will retail for $249 (same price as the iPod mini, but 1GB more) and be available in late August. More details Rio Audio Site and in AP Story on Yahoo.
Stores start to list the Rio Carbon.
