Rogers and Fido announced the iPhone 3G plans for Canada.
As already earlier announced Rogers charges the same prices for the iPhone 3G as AT&T in the US, but requires a 3 year contract. iPhone 3G will be available to Fido and Rogers customers at $199 for the 8GB model and $299 for the 16GB model on a three-year price plan.
The lowest iPhone 3G plan starts at $60.
The $60 plan includes 150m voice, 400MB data, 75 SMS. Rogers and Fido actually do not offer unlimited data even in the highest $115/month plan (2GB).
On the other hand, there are always strings attached to the unlimited data offer of other carriers. Always read the small print. T-Mobile in Germany for instance is throttling your access after reaching download limits, which are different in each plan. Highly confusing as in each plan it says "unlimited data".
More details on the Fido iPhone page and on the Rogers iPhone page.
As USD and Canadian Dollar have almost 1:1 exchange ratio we did not convert the prices mentioned in this story.
