OCZ unveiled today the OCZ Core Series SATA II 2.5" Solid State Drives (SSDs).
OCZ says that the new OCZ Core Series delivers the performance and reliability of the latest SSDs at a 50% lower price per gigabyte than other high speed offerings currently on the market.
Performance data of the OCZ Core SSDs include 120-143Mbs/80-93Mbs read/write speeds and seek times of less than 0.35ms.
The OCZ Core SSD drives are available in capacities of 32GB, 64GB and 128GB with prices of $169, $259 and $479 respectively.
The prices look amazing if you look at what 128GB SSD drives are selling for today. They are not really available mainstream and on Google prices are around $2,000-3,000. I am not sure how OCZ can offer a 128GB SSD at only $479.
I will believe it when they are in stores.
