EA announced that The Sims 2 Store has launched in beta form and is online for shoppers in the US and Canada. The store allows players of The Sims 2 to buy thousands of items for their Sims characters from cloths to furnishings, home office items and more.
Players can register at The Sims 2 Store and download items directly into the game. EA says all players of the game who register will be given 6 new downloads for free. The online store has items from The Sims 2 Expansion packs and Stuff Packs along with new exclusive items not available anywhere else.
"The Sims 2 Store is our first online shopping destination, designed with your Sims in mind," said Rod Humble, Head of Studio for The Sims Label. "Download the items that you would like from some of our Expansion Packs and Stuff Packs, along with all-new, exclusive items made available only at The Sims 2 Store. The selection of items is perfect for your Sims and you have the ability to pick-and-choose only the items that you want. The online assortment on the site is updated regularly, making shopping for The Sims 2 a fun and fresh experience."
