LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - "Kit Kittredge: American Girl" has her work
cut out for her as she expands to movie theaters across North America on
Wednesday after two weekends of solid returns in limited release.
Picturehouse's Abigail Breslin period drama will be vying for the youngsters
targeted by Disney/Pixar's animated feature "WALL-E," which topped the domestic
box office last weekend.
"WALL-E" looks likely to gross more than $30 million this weekend, whereas "Kit"
will probably be limited to the single-digit millions. Between Wednesday and
Sunday, it will perhaps gross in the low double-digits. Through last Sunday,
"Kit" had earned about $450,000 from five theaters.
