Mac heads looking for a way to keep their MacBook Pro notebook safe on airlines have a new option from Pelican. Pelican has added a MacBook Pro specific case to its 1490 line called the Apple 1490 laptop case. The case will fit both the 15-inch MacBook Pro and the 13.3-inch MacBook.
The interior is custom polyurethane foam with egg crate foam lining on the lid. The case is custom molded with no pick-and-luck foam used. The case promises to guard your MacBook from shock, impact and vibration and is sized for carry-on use.
The Pelican case is watertight and air tight so no water, sand or other items can get inside to harm your computer. The case is also covered by a lifetime guarantee. The case weighs 8.7 pounds empty and pricing is unknown. The universal 1490 cases retail for around $160, so expect to pay more than that.
