SkinPlex uses Skin for Data Transfer

German startup Ident-Technology invents alternative method for close distance data transfer called SkinPlex.
Skinplex uses the users skin to transfer electronic information.
For instance a SkinPlex system could be used to open cars when touching it. It would require the user to wear a code transmitter unit on his body, either a wristwatch or glasses. A receiver unit needs to be in the car. When the user touches the car the code is transmitted and the car door unlocks. The current used to transfer data over the skin is only 30 nanoamperes.
More details in Article on EE-Times and on Indent-Technology Site.
Skinplex would compete with RFID or bluetooth based solutions.
