Disney introduces a blue Mickey Mouse branded and shaped PC.
It is amazing to see how much coverage (google news) Disney gets for this announcement. Their brand is still strong as ever.
The Disney Dream Desk PC is designed by
Disney and Frog Design and built by Medion AG. The Disney PC features a 14.1" Mickey-shaped TFT LCD flat panel monitor with embedded
speakers, a DVD player, a CD writer and player, and an ergonomically designed,
kid-sized mouse. The PC is also equipped with a multimedia keyboard and a digital pen. Powered by a Intel Celeron D 330 running Windows XP.
The Mouse PC comes with Disney Flix,
Disney Pix and Disney Mix, which allow children to draw, edit pictures, create
music and write and direct their own movies.
Of course games are also included: Disney Mahjongg(TM), Disney's Extremely Goofy Skateboarding(TM), Disney's
Adventures in Typing with Timon & Pumbaa(TM), and a 14-day free membership to
Disney's ToonTown(TM) Online.
The Disney computer will retail for $599 (MSRP) with the monitor display sold separately at $299 (MSRP). CompUSA is the official retailer for the Disney PCs. They take pre-orders starting August 5th.
The Dream Desk PC will also be available through the Disney Catalog
and DisneyStore.com on August 12 and in CompUSA Superstores on September 12.
