Canon Eos Rebel XS Entry Level DSLR Launches

Canon has announced its latest entry level DSLR camera aimed at photographers looking to make the jump from a point-and-shoot into the DSLR world. The camera is called the EOS Rebel XS. Canon says the Rebel XS was designed to be easy to use and non-intimidating.
The XS has a 10.1MP CMOS sensor and features Live View, Auto Lighting Optimizer, 7-point wide area autofocus and can shoot at 3 frames per second continuously. The camera is expected to ship in august in a kit version that includes an EF-S18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS zoom lens, rechargeable battery and charger, cables and more for $699.99. the lens itself can be had for $199.99.
