Mac users who live on hotspots provided by Boingo wireless can get access to the hotspots with one click now thanks to a new Mac application. A Mac version of the GoBoingo! Client is now available for download that allows users to log in to public Wi-Fi hotspots with one click.
The Boingo service isn’t free but there are several plans to choose from including a monthly and a pay as you go plan. The new application works on OS X 10.4 and 10.5 for MacBooks and Powerbooks. Boingo says that as of January 2008 almost 20% of airport Wi-Fi traffic is from Mac systems.
"With our GoBoingo! software for MacBooks, you are now just one click away from enjoying Wi-Fi service at hotspots around the world," said Dawn Callahan, vice president, consumer marketing, Boingo Wireless. "We now have an easy-to-use Wi-Fi utility for the legions of MacBook users who want to be connected to Boingo Wi-Fi hotspots at airports, hotels and retail locations."
