Sony VAIO Z Series ultra-portable Notebooks unveiled

Sony unveiled four new VAIO notebook lines based on the new Intel Centrino 2 platform including the new ultra-portable notebooks in the VAIO Z series.
The VAIO Z series notebooks weigh just over 3 pounds and feature a 13.1-inch widescreen display with Sony’s own XBRITE-DuraView LCD technology for scratch-resistant durability and 100 percent color saturation.
Select VAIO Z models feature a high-resolution 1,600x900px widescreen display and also available is a dual channel 128 GB solid state drive (SSD) model. Faster and more durable, the SSD VAIO Z notebook provides a rapid boot-up and quicker access to applications than is typical of standard hard drives.
Other features and configurable options of the VAIO Z notebooks include Blu-ray player, HDMI, 802.11n, up to 4GB RAM, up to 320GB HDD, Intel Core Duo 2 CPU, NVIDIA GeForce 9300M GS and Bluetooth.
The VAIO Z notebook line includes the VGN-Z520NB,
VGN-Z570NB,
VGN-Z550NB,
VGN-Z530NB, and
VGN-Z591UB.
The standard VAIO Z notebook will start at about $1,800 while the SSD model will go for around $2,300.
