The demand for mobile memory cards is increasing with each new music player and smartphone that is released. Many of the hottest items on the market are now including microSD card slots for memory expansion. Kingston has added a new 8GB microSDHC card to its line.
Kingston says its card can store more than 1,500 digital songs, 4,000 images, and up to 8 hours of video. The price for the 8Gb microSDHC card from Kingston is $58. Kingston points out that not all of the microSD slot equipped devices on the market can read microSDHC cards.
"Consumers are demanding more from their mobile phones, expecting them to double as music and portable game players, instant cameras, email communicators, browsers and navigators. Having enough storage capacity, particularly in the form of memory cards, keeps internal device memory free to deliver all this multi-functionality," said Wendy Lecot, Flash card business manager, Kingston(R). "Our 8GB microSDHC cards are so roomy that mobile users can easily move entire digital libraries from a PC to their mobile phones -- and beyond."
