Toyota announced that it will be offering hands free Bluetooth systems on 15 of its models including the upcoming 2009 Venza when it goes on sale in the fall. Toyota says that its Bluetooth hands-free system will work with most mobile phones and is built into optional DVD navigation and JBL audio systems.
Toyota says that users of the hands-free systems will get the benefits including phone operation with built-in mic and audio speakers, one touch call answering via steering wheel controls or nav screen. The system automatically mutes the audio when a call is made or received. DVD navigation systems allow for placing calls from the last calls received list and voice commands can make or receive calls.
To use the system Toyota says that it only needs to be paired with the phone. Not all phones will have the same call quality according to Toyota. The vehicles hands-free will be available on includes the Toyota 4Runner, Highlander, Highlander Hybrid, Land Cruiser, Sequoia, Sienna, Tundra, Avalon, Camry, Camry Hybrid, Prius, and Solara.
