Sharp introduces a 15" 3D LCD Monitor on the US market available immediatly for purchase via their online store.
The Sharp LL-151-3D XGA LCD Monitor can be switched into 3D mode with a button on the Monitor. The display is auto-stereo, meaning users do not have to wear special glasses to see 3D.
Sharp’s 3D LCD Technology uses a secondary LCD as a parallax barrier. When the barrier display is switched on, the light passing through the primary TFT LCD is directed, such that odd pixel columns are focused towards the left eye and the even pixel columns are focused towards the right eye. When the software displays a 3D image, the 2 different perspective views are shown to each eye and the brain fuses these into a realistic 3D view.
The Sharp LL-151-3D Monitor sells for $1,499.00 on Sharpsystems.com.
Someone please write a Doom 3 extension to support this 3D Monitor.
We reported about pervious Sharp 3D display announcements, including the Sharp Mebius Notebooks PC-RD3D and the Sharp 3D Display Mobile Phone.
