Nintendo is just too successful to have to announce big new things. That is my take away from the Nintendo E3 2008 briefing.
The sales numbers of the Nintendo Wii and the Nintendo DS are amazing and the associated software sales too. In a state where the U.S. consumer still cannot order a Wii from Amazon for $249, big new announcements are just not necessary.
Nintendo did announce new stuff, do not get me wrong, but the new Microsoft Xbox 360 3D dashboard and the Xbox 360 Netflix deal have been the biggest announcements at the E3 so far. Still, Nintendo's success will continue this fall, no matter what Microsoft and Sony announce.
The new products from Nintendo are Wii MotionPlus and Wii Speak along with new games and the questionable Wii Music.
