Acer Aspire One Now On Sale in US

Acer announced today that its Aspire One notebook we first reported on in May is now available in the US. The Aspire One is an ultra-lightweight netbook in the vein of the ASUS Eee. The One starts at a price of $379. The One is designed to allow users to surf the web, check email, IM, make VOIP calls, stream video and listen to music.
The system weighs only 2.17 pounds and measures 9.8 x 6.7 x 1.14 inches. The screen is a 8.9-inch WSVGA LED screen with a resolution of 1024 x 600 and an integrated webcam. The machine has a three cell battery good for three hours and a six cell battery is optional. Using the 6-cell battery and Linpus Linux Lite battery life is up to 7 hours. Prices for the system range from $379 to $499.
Other features include an Intel Atom N270 processor, 512MB RAM, 8GB SSD, Intel Graphics Media accelerator 950. Wireless 802.11b/g is integrated and a 10/100 LAN port is integrated and more for $379. For $399 you get 1GB or memory, a 120GB HDD, Windows XP and more.
