A new service launched that offers protection for stolen phones or laptops. The service is from Yougetitback and you can get coverage for phones, PDAs, cameras, iPods and laptops and the service promises to preserve the data.

If a phone is lost all a Yougetitback user needs to do is log onto the website and click the lock button. That prevents the finder from being able to use the phone or look at any data on the phone. The only thing the finder or thief would be able to do is call the Yougetitback service to report finding the device. Contacts can be retrieved from the phone via the website as well. The software costs $20 per year and tags for the devices are $10 for 3-years.
