Corsair has laid claim to the title of fastest production DDR3 RAM with the release of its new Dominator DDR3 RAM running at 2133MHz. The kit is part number TW3X2G2133C9DF and retails for $575. For that amount of cash you get two 1GB sticks for a total of 2GB of high performance RAM.
The RAM runs timings of 9-9-9-24 at 1333MHz and was tested by Corsair on an NVIDIA 790i based mainboard to run at 2133MHz. The Corsair modules have a lifetime warranty. The modules also use corsairs Dual-Path Heat Xchange cooling system.
"Our engineers have been working hard to achieve this astounding speed of 2133MHz," said John Beekley, VP of Applications Engineering at Corsair. "This is a tremendous accomplishment to be able to manufacture memory modules at this speed in production volumes," added Beekley.
