iPhone developers are not as happy as one would think. There is a brand new market for software that did not exist before and it could become a big business for many software companies and individual developers.
Apple enforces though still an NDA for iPhone developers that prevents developers from talking to each other and blogs, magazines and book authors from publishing how-to articles.
Now that the App Store is live and the iPhone 2.0 software is launched it is very strange that Apple is not lifting the NDA to let the iPhone developers spread the word.
Additionally Apple seems to put the focus on unimportant aspects when approving new applications for the App Store incurring long delays.
More details about the state of iPhone developers can be found in this report on TUAW.
