Sony announces the KLV-20WS2 Wireless LCD TV system in Japan.

The Sony KLV-20WS2 TV system enables DVD player and other AV componets to hide away from the TV and have them connected to the external receiver unit. The new Sony TV supports two wireless bands, the 5 GHz band (IEEE802.11a) and the 2.4GHz band (IEEE802.11g) for data transfer.
The system has a wide area antenna to enhance the area where the TV can be positioned away from the receiver unit. Sony also bundles a infra-red headset with the TV to keep wires totally out of the game. The KLV-20WS2 has a scren size of 40.8cm (Width) ×30.6cm (height) (51cm diagonal). The resolution of the LCD TV is VGA (640x480).
No pricing information available yet. The KLV-20WS2 goes on sale in September.
