When Flip Video first announced its camcorder line, I didn’t think much about them. Since the introduction of the Flip Video camcorders, over 1 million of them have been sold in the US according to Pure Digital Technologies.

According to research firm NPD, the Flip Video Ultra is the best selling camcorder in America. The camcorders are all digital and ideal for uploading video to sharing sites like YouTube and MySpace. Pure Digital also announced that the Flip line was Mac compatible not too long ago.

"Flip's simplicity makes it easy for anyone to capture and share their stories and to participate in the explosion of video-sharing on the web, and that has been a winning approach with consumers," said Jonathan Kaplan, Chairperson and CEO of Pure Digital Technologies. "Our goal was to make video fun again and we transformed the camcorder market in the process."
