We reported about the launch of the new generation of Tamagotchis last week and asked to send in first impressions of the new toy.

I4U reader Travis sent us his first take on the Tamagotchi Connection:
"I've just purchased the new Tamagotchi conection. I am a big fan of the old versions and have 4 of them. I honestly think they could have improved the graphics more on the new ones because it basically looks like the old one.
I guess in a world full of color cell phones and personal organizers a one color LCD screen just look fossil like to me.
The new connection link feature sounds really cool but I have yet to use it, maybe because I am a 20 year old male and have no one to link to that I know. If I told my friends I own one they would probably kill me.

The sound effects are less harsh and annoying so thats a plus. Over all i think the new tama's will be popular with younger folks ages 10 to 14 anyone older I feel will be bored.There are too many mobile devices (i.e. cell phones, picture phones, mp3 players) to play with and to take up our time."
