Iomega has announced a new device called the ScreenPlay TV Link that makes accessing digital video content on the home theater easy. The device also features a USB port onboard for attaching a compatible hard drive for storage.
The device attaches to the TV and digital video files or photos can be played back directly on the TV screen from attached flash drives, hard drives and Iomega REV drives. Video output options include HDMI, component, composite, and SCART. Audio connectivity includes RCA and S/PDIF. Supported resolutions include 480p, 720p, and 1080i. Iomega says the two HD resolution are achieved through upscaling.
Supported file formats include MP3, AC3 (Dolby(R) Digital Encoding), WAV, WMA, MPEG-1, MPEG-2 (AVI/VOB), MPEG-4 (AVI/DiVX 3.11, 4.x, 5.x/XViD) and JPEG. The ScreenPlay TV Link measures 3.26" x 3.07" x 0.78" and weighs under 4 ounces. The device is available now for $99.95.
