Samsung has announced a new handset called the Messager that will first be available through MetroPCS customers. The handset is a horizontal slider with a full QWERTY keyboard. The phone comes in black and features a built-in 1.3-megapixel camera, SMS, MMs, email and IM capability.

Voice-recognition, Bluetooth, and a speakerphone are also built into the device. The phone has a MP3 player and an external microSD card slot for image storage supporting up to 2GB of memory. The Messager measures 4.4" x 2" x 0.7" and has a 2.1-inch 262K 176 x 220 resolution LCD.
