Canon has announced a pair of new multifunction photo printers called the PIXMA MP480 and the PIXMA MP190. Both printers are designed for simple operation and maximum performance. Both printers also provide new features for enhanced scanning, copying, and photo printing.

The MP 480 all-in-one printer is equipped with 1.8-inch TFT color LCD display, and can be easily navigated with a control panel. The printer includes Auto Photo Fix, and uses Easy-Photo Fix software. The software is able to detect the type of photo being printed whether it's a portrait or scenery and can help correct facial tones, brightness, contrast, and color saturation without the need for manual photo editing

The MP 480 also features auto scan mode, which can detect the type of document being scanned whether it is a photo, postcard, business card, magazine, newspaper, or a document and automatically crop and save the files to PDF or JPEG format. The MP480 can print text at 20 ppm in black and up to 16 ppm in color. It can also deliver outstanding 4 x 6 borderless lab quality prints in approximately 45 seconds. The estimated retail price for the MP 480 is $99.99 and optional Bluetooth adapter is available for an estimated price of $49.99.

The second new printer is the MP 190, which offers a maximum print resolution of 4800 x 1200 dpi. Printing speeds are up to 19 ppm for black and up to 15 ppm for color. The printer can also deliver 4 x 6" borderless photo quality prints approximately 70 seconds. The suggested retail price for the MP 190 is $69.99.
