X-Rite announced today that it has provided Lenovo with the first ever solution for display calibration -- without external peripherals -- on a workstation notebook. Lenovo uses the technology on its new ThinkPad W700 mobile workstation. The display calibration solution is embedded in the mobile workstation palm rest and uses customized Pantone hueyCOLOR technology.
X-Rite and Lenovo say that the embedded color calibration solution is perfect for digital photographers, industrial designers, and high-end graphic artists. The software needed for the calibration solution to operate is preloaded on the Lenovo notebook.
"By collaborating with experts in the color calibration industry like X-Rite, we are able to give our customers a wholly-integrated solution for exceptionally accurate color," said Tom Ribble, director, worldwide ThinkPad notebook product marketing, Lenovo. "The ThinkPad W700 mobile workstation delivers a first-to-market innovation, helping set a new standard for display calibration."
