A few weeks ago, some pictures of a new Microsoft SideWinder gaming keyboard surfaced online without any official announcement from Microsoft, leading many to think the pictures were fake. Today Microsoft has officially announced the new SideWinder X6 gaming keyboard. The biggest feature the keyboard is a number keypad that can be moved to either side of keyboard.
The ability to switch the keypad to the left side is impressive because gamers can move it can access the keys without removing a hand from the mouse. Microsoft says that the keyboard can store up to 90 macros per game and features backlighting. Other features include new Cruise Control and the ability to record macros in game.
Microsoft also announced a new SideWinder X5 mouse that has nine buttons, adjustable sensitivity of up to 2000 dpi with five of the buttons being fully programmable. The SideWinder X6 keyboard will be available in September for $79.95 and the SideWinder X5 mouse will be available at the same time $59.95.
