Sony announced at the Leipzig Game Convention (GC 2008) the rumored new Sony PSP console PSP-3000.
The Sony PSP-3000 features an advanced LCD screen supporting higher image quality, crisper colors with more definition when outside in natural light. The PSP-3000 also includes a built-in microphone, maximizing the communication features of products such as Go! Messenger and Skype.
SCEE will offer a variety of bundles that take advantage of the new PSP features, including a Go! communications bundle, and a variety of games bundles including our own Buzz!: Master Quiz, as well as FIFA ‘09 and Harry Potter bundles from our third party partners.

The PSP-3000 measures 69.4 x 18.6 x 71.4 mm and weighs 189g.

The PSP-3000 will ship in Europe, Middle East, Australia and New Zealand from 15th October 2008. In the U.S. the new PSP will start shipping on October 14th. The Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters™ PSP Entertainment Pack will feature the new PSP-3000 (Pre-order now on Amazon.com).
The PSP Entertainment Packs will continue to be $199.99 (MSRP), and later this year we’ll release a standalone, updated PSP in a PSP Core Pack, which remains at $169.99 (MSRP).
