Reuters reports that sources close to the matter claim that carrier Mobile TeleSystems (MTS) signed a deal with Apple to offer the iPhone 3G in Russia starting this October.

When the iPhone 3G becomes officially available in Russia it might loose its status and hipsters will have to look for the next "hard to get" thing.
