Archos announced this week their new 6th generation of portable media players. The new Archos 5, 5g and 7 series are awesome portable machines that offer Wi-fi or even 3G connectivity (5g). We picked the new Archos 5 with the gigantic 250GB hard-drive as one of our Top 100 Holiday Gift Tips of 2008. Why? Show me another portable media player with 250GB storage. Apple is not offering an iPod with that kind of capacity, Sandisk and Microsoft also fail to offer 250GB in a player. Archos goes even bigger on the Archos 7 with 320GB, but a 7 inch PMP is already very big for a portable without having to use a bag.
The storage capacity of the Archos 5 is not the only highlight. Other features include 4.8-inch TFT LCD touchscreen with 800 x 480 pixel resolution, Wi-Fi, web browser and Adobe Flash 9 video player support.
