The Erector Spykee robot was supposed to ship last October. We reported in September 2007 about the robot being offered on Amazon. It never shipped. Now the Erector Spykee product page on Amazon.com has a new shipping date: October 15th. Spykee sells for $299.99.
Features of the Spykee robot include Wi-fi connection, remote control via Internet, video camera, VOIP phone and webcam functionality, music player and auto parking to recharge.
Spykee is a very interesting robot as you can roam your house remotely and watch what is going on. Erector (Meccano) has showed though new Spykee robots at the CES 2008 beginning of this year. It is not clear if these make it to the market this year. WowWee has also shown a Wi-fi Spy robot with the Rovio at the CES 2008. It also is supposed to sell for $299 this fall.
