Mac users wanting an online backup solution might want to take a look at IDrive. The Pro Softnet Corporation announced that IDrive for Mac computers is now out of beta. The application was released in beta form in April 2008 and is an automated backup application that offers backup and restore functionality.
The application uses a finder Plug-in that mounts the online backup as a volume on Mac OS X and can be used for drag and drop of files from the computer to the web and vice versa. The maker of IDrive says it outperforms other online backup services available for Mac users by 30%.
The backup application encrypts data with 128-bit SSL encryption, uses advanced black level incremental transfers, and snapshots for backups over the last 10 days. An account with 2GB of storage is free and a 150GB account costs $4.95 per month.
