Canon Launches New A-Series and Ultra-Zoom Cameras

Canon launched a revamped A-Series of cameras along with a new series of ultra-Zoom cameras today. Two new cameras were added to the Canon A-series including the A1000 IS and the A2000 IS. Both of the cameras are point-and-shoot designs with a slim profile and have 10-megapixel resolutions. The A1000 IS has 4x optical zoom and the A2000 IS has 6x optical zoom.
Both use the DIGIX III image processor and the A1000 has a 2.5-inch LCD while the A2000 uses a 3-inch LCD. Both have face detection, motion detection, and red-eye correction along with image stabilization. The SX110 IS camera has the same features except for a 10x optical zoom and 9-megapixel resolution. The A1000 will retail for $199.99, the A2000 for $249.99 and the SX110 for $299.99. Availability for the new cameras will be September.
