Japanese Mind Reading Gadget Research

Nikkei.Net has another story today around enhancing humans with gadgets. We reported about the Nidek Artificial Vision Research in another story.

Japanese Brain Functions Lab has a lie-dector device that is based on Emotion Spectrum Analysis. It measures brain waves using 10 electrodes positioned on a person's scalp.

Sharp is supposedly already using Emotion Spectrum Analysis to measure consumers satisfaction when listening to new audio equipment.

Japanese AIST Institute is working on controlling gadgets like prostetic limbs with thoughts. They are currently working with monkeys where they take signals from the cerebral neural system to control a robotic gadget.
