Sony announced four new car stereos for its Xplod line that connect directly to iPods. The stereos can also charge the iPod or iPhone while on the road. The first Sony car stereo to get this capability is the CDX-GT630UI.
In addition to connecting to the iPod, it also offers USB connectivity and the ability to connect to other MP3 players. Other features include Sony's Zappin function for searching for music. Zapping is like a seek button, but it plays clips from your own music library.
Other stereos announced include the CDX-GT430IP, CDX-GT330, and CDX-GT130. Only the GT130 is not iPod compatible, though the GT330 requires an optional adapter. Pricing for the radios is $160 for the GT630UI, $130 for the GT430IP, $100 for the GT-GT330, and $80 for the GT130.
